Processed foods are everywhere! Don’t believe me? Just grab any of the products that you buy normally at the grocery store and read the ingredients. To start, many of them have refined sugar – PROCESSED FOOD! Now add the many chemicals they add, all with weird names, colorants, preservants and artificial flavour.
Today I showed this to my grandmother – who is by the way trying to eat healthier and lose some weight. She bought a pack of instant Ramen soup. She though she was eating just a normal healthy soup. The surprise came when I turned over the pack and read the list of ingredients. To start, SUGAR, a lot of weird names and to end an artificial lobster flavour. Yuck!
This is sad. We eat junk food even when we think we are not! And by the way, when processed food appeared, so did the heart diseases and obesity. This is a link many fail to see. I first read about this on Mike Geary’s Book “The Truth About Six Pack Absâ€. And well, sceptic as I am I took a look at many of the products I consume daily.
However, we have a choice! By first getting to know this fact, you are way ahead of most people on a diet. Now you must do something about it right? So, start reading the ingredients on the food you buy. Even healthy food like vegetables can be subject to chemicals I they are sprayed with insecticide.
What happened to eating natural food, and why is it hard to find (not to mention expensive)?
