Simple Rule for Losing Weight: Eat Until You Are Full

I’ve been thinking a lot lately on how to simplify things in all aspects of life. If you think about it, the simpler you take things, the easier it will be to do them. When it comes to losing weight and developing healthy habits, it is no different. Today I want to talk about one thing you can begin to integrate into your daily life that can change you: eating until you are full.

It may sound obvious, but you won’t believe how many times we continue eating because “we need to finish our meal”, or even sometimes because “it tastes so good to stop”! This needs to change, and I order to make this change, we will have to become more aware of what we are doing and what we are feeling when we are eating.

Begin by eating slow and without any distraction. You wanted to eat? Great, now TASTE your food. It’s not about finishing it, it is about enjoying it. Turn off the TV, the computer and focus in your food and the great flavours it has. In the meantime, continually ask yourself “Am I full?”, and learn to understand what your body is telling you.

This can be hard at first, after all not all people are used to listening to their bodies, but with practice you’ll learn to understand the sign your body gives you.

As you learn when to stop eating, you may find that eating less actually feels better! You didn’t have to eat the whole super-sized chocolate bar to enjoy the sweet did you?

If you have really bad eating habits, eat whatever you want, and do it as long as you STOP WHEN YOU ARE FULL.

This is a great first step for people who want to lose weight. It’s simple and anyone can do it! Yes, you too!
