When you are starting your abs exercises, you may be prone to hear about stomach exercises myths.  Myths are false facts that are taken as the truth. Watch out for these as they may have an impact in the way you train, and ultimately in your results!
You Can Lose Fat in Just One Spot
One of the biggest myths that can be found nowadays. People think they can lose weight just in one zone of their bodies, so they neglect other parts of their bodies when assessing what workout/diet/training works and what doesn’t.
If you are going to lose weight, you are going to lose it in ALL THE BODY. The key to having a stomach free of fat, is increasing your metabolism to not let the fat stay on the stomach area.  You do this either by interval cardio training or eating more – and smaller – meals a day (every time you eat, your metabolism starts running). Use a combination of both for maximum results!
More Reps More Results
Less, but quality repetitions are what matter the most.  In fact, you can do 200 bad and quick crunches and the only result you’ll get will be body pain, especially in exercises where form is hard to replicate.
It’s not about getting things done and move on. It’s about focus and proper execution of the exercises. So please, divide your reps on 4 sets, and focus on the muscle groups you are working on.
6 Pack With Exercises Only
Yes, everybody wants to have that nice set of abs, but in order to get that six pack; your first priority should be to drop your body fat to a minimum. Â Because no matter how well developed your muscles are, they will not show if a layer of fat is covering them!

The Crunch and Munch
Some people eat badly, and when they eat this way they tend to say: “I’ll burn it when I do my crunchesâ€.  Well I hate to be the one to tell you, that it won’t happen that way.  Crunches are only effective for muscular growth and development. It will not burn fat in your body, neither will it erase the calories you’ve just eaten.
Lower your fat intake little by little, do your crunches, but also do cardio workout. Â The proven exercise that WILL burn fat.
Train Your Abs every Day
If you want a six pack, chances are you are giving the most out of each session.  In these cases, let the muscle rest. Although your abs are stronger, because hey form your core, they need some rest in order to grow stronger and bigger.
Stomach Exercises Ruin Your Back
A properly done exercise for the abs will in fact strengthen your abs section. Â Because you back and abs are related and situated in the same zone. Â Good abs will give you better posture, resulting in less back problems.
